GHE PTA – Working for EVERY Student!
What does the PTA do?
The GHE PTA, made up of committed parents and staff, works to support the staff and students at Green Hope Elementary, providing opportunities, supplies, and programming that would not be possible any other way.
Why does the PTA need to fundraise?
County and Statewide budget cuts continue to reduce what our schools can provide to students. Supplies, technology, facility upgrades and enrichment activities are no longer supported entirely by government funds. To keep our children’s educational opportunities at the level that they deserve, the GHE PTA steps in to raise money to fill the gaps left by budget cuts.
What does the PTA pay for?
The PTA funds major projects like our new playground, smart boards and projectors in every classroom, updates to the grounds and much more. The PTA also works to support teachers in all aspects of their jobs. We know that the key to retaining quality faculty and staff is to make them feel respected and valuable. Grants, Classroom Support, Specialist Support, Treats for Teachers and Teacher Appreciation all help show our staff that we recognize and appreciate their tireless work for our kids.
What about fun things?
We think that kids should have a GREAT time at school! Ice Cream Social, Doughnuts for Dads, Math and Science Night, Family Game, Field Day and Spirit Nights all give the kids a chance to relax and enjoy the perks of being a kid.
But school is for learning!
We’ve got that covered, too! In addition to all the support we provide the teachers, the PTA funds online access to Raz-Kids, Reading A to Z, Moby Max and more. We fund investments in books and learning materials, Spelling Bees and Character Education.
We believe in doing good.
We want to teach our kids to take care of those around them. That’s why you’ll see efforts to collect food for charities, books, shoes and coats for kids without, and Christmas presents for Green Hope Elementary students in need.
